Community Rallies Behind
BlaQue Cash Mob at
Earnest Foods in Queens

Founder of The BlaQue Resource Network Aleeia Abraham

On Sunday, November 24, BlaQue Community Cares will host a BlaQue Cash Mob at Earnest Foods, a Black-owned organic grocery store in Jamaica, Queens. A cash mob is a community effort to boost sales by shopping locally, supporting Black-owned businesses, and promoting economic empowerment in Queens.

Earnest Foods opened its doors in November 2021, during a critical time for the community. As Jamaica, Queens, continues to grapple with the challenges of being a food desert, the organic supermarket was founded to address a dire need: access to fresh, healthy, and high quality food options.

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, November 24th, from 2 - 4 PM

  • Location: Earnest Foods, 123-01 Merrick Boulevard, Queens, NY 11434

  • Purpose: To support Earnest Foods and highlight the need for sustainable local businesses in underserved areas.

“This is about more than a day of shopping,” said Aleeia Abraham, founder of BlaQue Community Cares. “It’s about using our dollars to sustain businesses that support our neighborhoods.”
