Inspiring Mixed Media Artist Julia Shaw Is Sharing Her Creative Talent In
Southeast Queens At King Manor

Julia D. Shaw a self-taught mixed media artist and entrepreneur living in New York City, will be sharing her creative afro-inspired art techniques with a workshop at King Manor, in Jamaica, Queens, Saturday, May 23, 2023.  To reserve for the workshop click here.  In 2016 she rekindled her childhood dream of becoming an artist when she began attending an intergenerational art class.

The class inspired her to set her creative inner-child free. "Her interest in drawing and painting with acrylics on canvas’ evolved to include mixed-media artwork," reveals Shaw.

Julia’s love for the textures and layers of mixed media with the beauty and colorful richness of African prints is the core of her artwork.  Julia’s work is unique, one-of-a-kind, functional artwork on canvas, vases, wine bottles, and other unconventional items.”

“Creating art shares the joy-filled part of me with others as l release my creative uniqueness. Making art is freedom, creative freedom that dares me to dream and continue to inspire myself and others,” shares Shaw.
