Black Business Owners Forum 2021: Level Up! Virtual Forum Puts Entrepreneurs In Good Company To Expand Access To Opportunities

JAMAICA, NY – Entrepreneurs, legislators, city and federal agencies, prime contractors,  construction managers, publicly and private non-publicly traded funding institutions, and  community business leaders virtually gathered to provide vital information, essential resources,  technical assistance and networking opportunities during the 2nd annual Black Business Owners  Forum 2021: Level Up (BBOF2021) virtual event.

BBOF2021 sessions and panels also featured funders, community-based organizations, civic  leaders and small business subject matter experts. NYC Department of Small Business  Services Commissioner, Jonnel Doris, provided greetings at the forum inviting participants from the Big Apple to explore and take advantage of the myriad business resources New York City offers its residents, free of charge. Dr. George C. Fraser, Chairman and CEO of FraserNet, Inc. and one of the nation’s foremost authorities on economic development, challenged the attendees to evolve as they learn how to "level up" their business. He also shared concrete  steps to network and build effective relationships.

Danielle Douglas
Small businesses undergird the nation’s stability. Small businesses employ nearly half of all U.S. workers and often bear great responsibility in building the ecosystem of our communities, said Danielle Douglas, President of Inspire Enterprise, Inc. and Founder of BBOF2021.

“The health and viability of small businesses and communities are interdependent.  Therefore, we need to provide small business owners the tools and resources necessary to thrive. The  panels, arranged with intention, were comprised of individuals committed to playing a vital role to ensure minority and women owned business enterprises are contract ready, have access to resources and are poised for growth,” continued Douglas.

The Black Business Owners Forum’s agenda included conference sessions: Navigating New  Terrain: Gain Access to the Corporate Sector; Securing the Bag: Use Capital to Expand Your  Business; and Living the Vision: Positioning Your Business for Bigger Opportunities and  Elevating Your Game: Maximize Resources for Growth. Some of our noteworthy Moderators  and Panelists included Corey Smith, Head of Diversity & inclusion, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton Inc.; Luc El-Art Severe, J.D., Vice President, Small Business and Workforce  Development; United Way, and Jumoke Fagbayi-Butts, V.P., Sr. Business Consultant, Minority  Entrepreneurs.

The African Most Beautiful USA Pageant Showcases Beautiful And Talented Women While Helping To Uplift Africa

The "African Most Beautiful USA," pageant is an event which showcases the beauty, talent, and brilliance of young women of African descent and direct lineage between the ages of 18-28.  The purpose of the pageant is also to raise money for important causes in Africa.  It is organized by the Abofrem Area Foundation, Inc. (AAF).

Abofrem Area Foundation, Inc. (AAF) is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization based in the United States. The AAF is the brainchild of Nana Obaahemaa Nkrumah Akosua Adasa III, a Ghanian-American, who started the organization with a desire to provide the village of Abofrem, her original hometown located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, as well as the surrounding villages in Ghana and other African countries access to food, employment, education, sanitation, and medical needs.

In the year 2019, the foundation proudly constructed a new school building which encompasses Grades 1-5 to benefit the children in the village so that none would be left behind in gaining vital education.  A medical hospital was constructed within the village in 2021 to be dedicated January 5, 2022.
