This award is given annually to recognize the outstanding legislative achievements and contributions made by a current member of NBCSL. Renamed the Thomas S. Boyland Legislator of the Year Award in 1983 in memory of late New York Assemblyman, the award is given to a legislator who has exhibited extraordinary leadership and dedication to the advancement of NBCSL’s legislative agenda.
This award was presented to Senator Sanders during the NBCSL's 45th Annual Legislative Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on December 2, 2021.
"I feel humble and grateful to have received this pretigious award from such an important organization as the NBCSL," Sanders said. "I will continue to exhibit the leadership and dedication to improve the future of our great state."
