Queens, New York -- We’re giving back to Hospitals, Police Precincts, Fire Houses, MTA and Sanitation Break Rooms from Saturday, April 25th through Sunday, April 26th, with a Free log-on to the Queens Underground 718-Part 2 1st Ever International Black History Month Film Festival as a Virtual Online 2-Day Event. The February 22nd sold-out Festival at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center was an amazing affair with submissions from 12 countries for the categories of:
- Movie Shorts
- Music, Poetry and Dance Videos; along with
- Web Series Episodes.
While the venue for April is closed, we’re still able to offer the same festival virtually and include our Essential Workers as a way of saying “Thank You” for your tireless and unselfish efforts during this horrific pandemic. Essential workers click here for FREE access.
Exec. Director Adrienne Whaley explains, “we want to do something special to help keep everyone’s spirits and energy up and our Filmmakers will do just that.” Born into a Veterans and Police Officers family, Whaley understands the duress this challenging time presents and Queens Underground together with:
- Glam Vive
- The Greater Jamaica Merchants Chamber
- The Southeast Queens Scoop and the
- Cultural TV Network
all want to express their gratitude to New York City’s Essential Workers. Essential Workers click here
