BLACK NURSE TELLS HER PERSONAL STORY IN NEW BOOK ABOUT HER LUCRATIVE CAREER AT THE HEAD OF THE BED

Springfield, MA  In recent years, the National Center for Health Statistics estimated upwards of 48 million inpatient surgical procedures performed per year in the United States. Safely administering anesthetics to more than 45 million patients annually, CRNAs are the number one anesthesia providers for surgical procedures done in rural areas, for the brave men and women of the United States armed forces, and for many hospital and healthcare facilities across the nation.

The practice of delivering anesthesia during a procedure is crucial to an operative patient's safety and well-being. A trained professional must have a thorough understanding of the anesthetics required, the patient's diagnosis, weight, size, any pre-existing conditions, allergies, and the patient's body chemistry. They must induce sleep, allow the patient to remain asleep throughout the entire procedure, and revive the patient as expected. The 53,000 members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists account for 90 percent of the nation's CRNAs.

BALTIMORE ORGANIZATION, TRUUNITY, INSPIRES BLACK AND BROWN STUDENTS TO SEE THEMSELVES IN A NEW LIGHT

Baltimore, MD  The numbers are startling. Research indicates that by 2053, the net worth of African Americans - now valued at $95,261 - will completely dissolve down to $0. What is the main cause for the great divide? Education and access. In order for the next generation of black and brown students to achieve these two keys to success, they must see themselves in professional roles.

TruUnity, a Baltimore-based organization that uses its resources to help black and brown students achieve success, announces the kickoff of it's "Buy One, Give One" t-shirt campaign. For every Future Millionaire shirt purchased, another shirt will be donated to youth in Baltimore City and Lancaster City, Penn., to help break the stigma around minority success.

Whether it's in day-to-day life, high profile positions or television, research shows that there is a strong relationship between children of color, low self-esteem and the lack of role models that look like them. In order to nourish the next generation, black and brown students must feel empowered to expand their minds and see themselves in role models who are achieving in professional settings. TruUnity offers just that.

THE TOP 7 AREAS TO BE EXAMINED IN SOLVING THE RACE ISSUE IN AMERICA

Nationwide "When America twice elected Barack Obama as the first African American President, many Americans thought that the cancer of racism was finally healed and that America had faced the spiritual dilemma of racism and delivered on its creed of equality and justice for all. It appeared that Dr. Martin Luther King's dream had finally been realized," said H. J. Harris, author of Solving The Race Issue In America.

The 2016 presidential campaign however took a different tone. It was full of race-tainted rhetoric and messaging to "'take our country back. "A recent statement by President Trump to 'send them back' in reference to four democratic congresswomen along with the recent increase of white supremacist activities highlight the racial divide in America," according to Harris.

NEW NOVEL DEPICTS HOW A 10-YEAR OLD BOY USES HIS WRITING SKILLS TO ESCAPE THE GHETTO

Nationwide -- In his new book Jacob's Ghetto, author Travis Peagler tells the story of a young artistic African American boy who sets his sights on winning a lucrative writing competition in hopes of escaping the ghetto he never wanted to call home.

Travis comments, "So many talented youths feel trapped and isolated in the ghettos they're forced to call home. With violence erupting on almost on every street corner in some of the nation's most dangerous neighborhoods, many talented kids fall victim and are forced to bow to the impending violence."

There are many bright kids that have the smarts to make it out the ghetto, without having to rely on sports as their only means of escaping; "Poor kids are just as bright as wealthy kids," said former Vice President Joe Biden.
