The film is set in Atlanta with the character Sinclair who is down on his luck and ends up at the top radio station. He's on air when a female caller asks him for relationship advice. The next caller happens to be his longtime girlfriend, who breaks up with him, on air, in the middle of his show, embarrassing him across all of Atlanta. What's to follow is a refreshing new spin on the simple truths about love and relationships.

Miller who plays the character of Cheryl, co-stars with up and coming actors Travis Cure, Courtney Gray, twins: Jeremi and Justin Farrar and actress Jae'. Miller is no stranger to multitasking. She has founded two production companies, Olivia Entertainment in Los Angeles and Hollywood East, in Atlanta. She has been a longtime advocate for putting positive stories about women and relationships on screen. WHY DO WHITE PEOPLE HATE US SO MUCH? BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL ANGRY ABOUT THE PHARAOHS AND THE MOORS!

By Legrand H. Clegg II -- Several months ago, I wrote an article claiming that one of the driving forces behind White racism and animosity toward Black people is that of retaliation. In summary, on a deep, subconscious level the White collective has inherited from its ancient and medieval ancestors an entrenched resentment of Black people that was originally caused by Black ostracism, domination and enslavement of primitive Whites when Africans ruled the world. Given the fact that this is February of the Black quadricentennial year (1619-2019) of enslavement in America, and given recent racist events in this country, I have chosen in this article to revisit and elaborate on my theory of global White resentment and retribution toward people of African descent.

In our confusion over the persistence of White racism across generations and in our effort to become accepted as ordinary American citizens just as everyone else, we, as Black people, have appealed to the White collective with demonstrations, protests, petitions, prayer vigils ,etc.; none of which has led to a genuine cessation of racism on the part of the White establishment or masses.

Rather than continue these modes of thought and action, I believe we as a people should pause, gather our wits about us and calmly evaluate the true nature of White racism toward us. From such analysis we will find that today, as in the past, we are not just facing racial prejudice and intolerance but, rather, a deep-seated, visceral, reflexive loathing of Black people by Whites on a global scale that appears to defy all logic, has persisted over the centuries and is gaining renewed momentum during the Age of Trump.

HOLLYWOOD ACTOR AND FILMMAKER LEWIS T. POWELL SHOWS OFF HIS CULINARY SKILLS IN THE KITCHEN

NEW BOOK, "FIRST SEEDS OF CIVIL WAR ARE SOWN," DOCUMENTS BLACK HISTORY LIKE NEVER BEFORE

Nationwide -- A beautiful lifetime original collector’s commemorative souvenir booklet entitled First Seeds of Civil War Are Sown is now available for the 10th anniversary of a historical event that took place in Hampton, Virginia on March 25, 2009 - the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Highlights of the book include the 2009 Mayor Molly Ward Proclamation, descendants' personal letters of expressions, and must-see photos. A journey that took place in London England back in 2006 and formed a straight line to Hampton, Virginia, in March 2009. She documents her lifetime steps in the journey and published them in December 2009 solely for the its 10th anniversary leading to the Quadricentennial. This journey made an exceptional contribution to Calvin Pearson’s Project 1619 and vice versa. The documentation provides official information and evidence and serves as a record of facts.

Nationwide  -- Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein has announced the cast for the New York premiere of "Surely Goodness and Mercy," a truly Keen story about an exceptional boy living a troubled life in Newark, NJ who does a good deed for an often unnoticed person. Sarita Covington, Jay Mazyck, Brenda Pressley, Courtney Thomas, and Cezar Williams will star under Jessi D. Hill's direction. The design team includes Lee Savage (scenic), Nicole Wee (costumes), Devorah Kengmana (lighting), and Sadah Espii Proctor (sound).

Sarita Covington is a multi-disciplinary artist/activist from Harlem with over ten years' experience acting in theater, TV and film including Shakespeare the Remix (Capital Rep); Lulu (Mark Lamos, director), Miss Julie, The Clean House (Bill Rauch, director), all at Yale Rep; The Whale Play (Shana Cooper, director), Forgiveness (Tribeca Performing Arts Center). Her play Things Went Horribly Wrong will be produced this spring in Rochester, NY. She is a co-founder of ACRE (Artists Co-creating Real Equity), a multiracial grassroots organizing group of artists committed racial equity in the arts. She holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.


Jay Mazyck is 19 and from Brooklyn NY. He received his training at Rutgers University. This will be his Off-Broadway debut after having participated in many high school & college shows and readings. He is an alumnus of LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.

BLACK WOMEN TALK TECH SEEKS TO INSPIRE AND CONNECT FEMALE STARTUPS WITH INVESTORS

New York, NY --  Black women startup founders CAN create billion dollar companies! That is the belief of three innovators - Regina Gwynn, Esosa Ighodaro, and Lauren Washington - who were inspired to create "Black Women Talk Tech," a network of support and resources for Black Women tech founders.

With research showing that Black women are the fastest growing group of female entrepreneurs, Black women in tech are no longer hidden figures; but there is a funding gap to support their innovation. However, this funding obstacle did not stop the three founders. They organized a conference in 2017 to provide an empowering experience for black women tech entrepreneurs to learn about business growth strategies and connect with investors and other tech founders.

In February 2018, they hosted, "The Roadmap to Billions" Black Women Talk Tech's 2nd annual conference, sponsored by Microsoft. The conference focus was on tearing down roadblocks and promoting #blackgirlmagic in the tech industry. The New York City Conference 2-day highlights included 20 expert panels and workshops, 44 speakers, attendees from 22 countries, a $10,000 pitch competition, 14 companies funded, and founder showcases.

RESPECTED SCHOLAR EXPLAINS HOW IMMIGRATION HARMS NATIVE BLACKS

Nationwide -- Dr. Claud Anderson, best-selling author and President of The Harvest Institute, says, "Whether it is building a wall or open admission of immigrants, the partisan debate on immigration shut down the federal government and furloughed hundreds of thousands of employee, but has ignored a core issue: the effects of immigration on Native Blacks, the most vulnerable citizens." The Harvest Institute, a Washington, D.C. based non-profit policy and advocacy organization, has released an article on its website at www.HarvestInstitute.org, meant to address that issue.

Anderson comments, "Executing immigration policies without mitigating the negative impact those polices have on Black Americans is illegal and unconstitutional." The article explains that the 13th and 14th amendments to the U.S. Constitution, enacted at the end of the 1860's Civil War, mandated that Black people be treated in all manners similar to Whites and that government must use all necessary means to lift the legacies and burdens of slavery from the shoulders of Blacks. Since then, six succeeding generations of immigrants have been fast tracked into full American Dream membership while Black Americans remain the nation's official underclass.


The mandates of the 13th and 14th amendments of the U.S. Constitution have been ignored, violated and corrupted. These constitutional amendments were the collective base for the 1866 Civil Rights Laws designed to correct he 1857 Dredd Scott decision that held a Black man had no rights a White man was bound to respect. These laws were originally intended, not for all people, but to specifically correct the systemic injustice imposed upon Black people.

COMMUNITY ACTIVIST, DR. HAROLD E. BAILEY, BOLDLY SPEAKS OUT ABOUT THE POLICE KILLING OF 17-YEAR OLD LAQUAN MCDONALD

Nationwide -- It has become apparent to the African American community that a subliminal biased message has been communicated from the 'Trump White House', into States Houses, City Political Houses and into the 'Broken Criminal Justice' arena.Months after being convicted for second-degree murder, former Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke has been sentenced to six years and nine months in prison and two years of mandatory supervised release for the 2014 murder of 17-year old Laquan McDonald. 

Van Dyke shot McDonald 16 times with 9 in the back... on the night of October 20, 2014. Van Dyke claimed that he fired after McDonald failed to comply with demands to drop a knife he was holding and made a threatening move toward police. 

Judge Domenica Stephenson acquitted former Officer Joseph Walsh, Detective David March, and Officer Thomas Gaffney on charges of conspiracy, official misconduct, and obstruction of justice.

Houston, TX --  In his biennial State of the State address on Tuesday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott touted the state's strong economy and workforce, highlighting the success story of J.I.V.E. Juice founder Tamala Austin. BLACK-OWNED STREAMING SERVICE HELPS RECYCLE BLACK DOLLARS IN URBAN COMMUNITIES 

New York, NY -- With subscriber numbers soaring, Black-owned social streaming platform X On Demand (xod.tv) is looking to broaden not only their reach - but the reach of other Black-owned businesses.

The social media forward Netflix-style site, which bills itself as "a platform dedicated to showcasing works by Black filmmakers and content creators," currently offers three monthly subscription plans. Two of those plans are supposed to contain ad-sponsored videos, but that is not the case - yet. X On Demand's Founder and CEO Rashidah De Vore, and Marketing Director Eri Washington, released a video announcing XOD's ad initiative for Black-owned businesses looking to reach a new base of consumers.

Businesses can purchase ad space to play between each video on the site, connecting them with XOD's worldwide audience. Pricing starts at just $2 for a week long run, with blocks of unskippable ad time ranging from 15 to 60 seconds. Both video and still image ads are accepted, with still images remaining on the screen for the purchased block of time.

DISCOVERING THE EXCELLENCE WITHIN: REALIZING MY GREATNESS IN SOUTH AFRICA

Nationwide -- I had my first taste of global cultural learning in 2015 when I traveled to Qatar at the age of 14 for a week-long Arabic debate competition. Two years earlier, in seventh grade, I had started taking Arabic classes at Lindbolm Math and Science Academy, a selective high school serving gifted and marginalized students in Chicago.

Until I became a Frederick Douglass Global Fellow and studied in South Africa last summer, the Qatar trip had been my most extensive abroad experience. But what transpired during the summer of 2018 in South Africa, made me realize that was only the beginning of my personal development.

When I started at Lindbolm Academy as a seventh grader, I experienced a challenging environment, something more dynamic than anything I had experienced before. I relished in the opportunity to engage with a new culture through my Arabic language and dance courses because it provided an outlet for some of my feelings of displacement.

I felt lost and uncomfortable in my new environment. I was forced to push the boundaries to which I had grown accustomed, and at times, I struggled with the changes.

2019 MARKS THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ELAINE PHILLIPS MASSACRES THAT CLAIMED OVER 200 LIVES OF BLACK MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN

Helena, AR -- 2019 marks one hundred years since one of America's deadliest massacres that claimed over two hundred lives of black men, women, and children. In 1919, over a hundred sharecroppers and local farmers met with the Progressive Farmers and Household Union of America at a local church in a small rural community to discuss how to obtain fairer settlements from landowners. The black farmers were tired of being cheated out of their crops - this made the white landowners upset, the birth to the bloody slaughter began.

An article was written and published in Helena World newspaper said a white deputy was shot and killed by one of the black farmers. Not everyone agreed with the article that was published claiming that the black farmers shot first.

The local sheriff formed a posse of 500-1000 and provided weapons and ammunition to the posse. The posse came from Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri to join forces to slaughter blacks. The governor called in five hundred federal troops, who arrested nearly two-hundred and sixty African American men over three days. One hundred and twenty-two African Americans were prosecuted for these events, seventy-three was charged with murder and twelve were convicted. Some of the older black people in the community said the numbers were much higher than two hundred.

A NEW, AFRICAN-CENTERED DATING MODEL REVOLUTIONIZES THE MATCH-MAKING INDUSTRY FOR BLACK SINGLES

Raleigh, NC  Find Black Love, a new African-centered event for Black singles, is shaking up the match-making industry and giving hope by connecting hundreds of revolutionary Black singles through dating activities centered on Black/African culture at the full-day event on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Ezra Conference Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

"We have decided to do something ground-breaking," says Find Black Love co-organizer, Nataki Kambon, who is from the Washington DC Metro area. "It has been time for a new paradigm in terms of how Black love and relationships are approached, especially for those of us in the Diaspora... for those of us that have that knowledge of self and want to see it reflected in those that we meet, it's been long overdue," says Kambon.


Find Black Love was conceived shortly after Kambon returned from attending the Sankofa Journey in Ghana during the Summer of 2018. She returned inspired about her culture but felt frustrated with dating events that either felt too serious or did not have potential partners that shared her values and beliefs. That's when Kambon set out to create a Black love website that could help those seeking to pursue marriage. After convening Black singles and married elders around the country, Find Black Love's concept changed from a web-based platform to an in-person event. Pioneering in the match-making industry, the event is purposely gender-balanced, African-centered, and features activities that inspire cultural appreciation, self-love, and positive healing between Black men and Black women.

The Singletons Produce Family Members Who Make Historic Impact In Their Community

“Benjamin James Singleton, Sr. is being considered In The Memorial Intersection Proposal, Dorchester County, SC”

Honoring, Carter G. Woodson (1875-1950), the "Father of Black History, Negro History Week and Black History Month.” Benjamin James Singleton, Sr. (1943-2017), a retired administrator with the Dorchester County Sheriff's Department, South Carolina, was an everyday best friend, a comedian, steadfast and consummate businessman, an adviser and entrepreneur: Knightsville Cleaners, the “Many Faces” social club owner, a real estate investor, Ben and Helen Brown Singleton (B&H) Banquet Hall co-owners.  “Ben” was also a community activist, who successfully completed 45 years of public service in law enforcement.

In South Carolina, he was a member of the Palmetto State Law Enforcement Officers Association (PSLEOA) and severed as its President 1987-1989.  One incredible moment in his career happened the day USA President George H. W. Bush 41 visited the Dorchester County Sheriff's Department after Hurricane “Hugo” in 1989. 

Respectfully, accolades of merit, Benjamin James Singleton, Sr., was the Former Chief of Police of Ridgeville, South Carolina, which was the birth place of his father, Clement Addison Singleton, Sr. (1913-2001).  Also, Ben was a father, family leader and chief advocate for the “Clement Addison Singleton, Sr. Highway Dedication 2003-2004.”

Historically, his father, Clement A. Singleton, Sr., as a child, only attended grade school for 4 years and a day (fourth grade education and night school), was a local farmer who worked 29 years, 6 months and 27 days for the US Army Ordnance Depot, Charleston Naval Shipyard, and Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina.  Thus, Clement A. Singleton, Sr. lived as an extraordinary son and a very talented man; a beloved brother, father, husband, confidant, lifetime community and church leader; Lay Speaker, Hymn Choir singer and a South Carolina Legendary “Low Country” vocalist, and member of Canaan United Methodist Church (CUMC), Ridgeville, SC.

In 1982, shortly after the untimely passing of his oldest daughter, Thelma Singleton Evans (1934-1982), Lay Speaker Clement A. Singleton, Sr.’s Sunday sermon and “old time gospel songs,” were recorded: Hymn, “Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior,” was performed by Isreal T. Singleton and CUMC musically-assisted worship service congregation.  The song “Prayer Changes Things,” and Acapella Congregational Songs were sung at Red Bank United Methodist Church, Cottageville, SC, where Clement A.
