RETIRED ARMY VETERAN & AUTHOR SHARES HIS NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES TO MAKE AN IMPACT ON LIVES

Nationwide --  How would you approach life if you were declared dead at the age of six after suffering from tragic car accident? What about if you were in Iraq being attacked with mortar rounds intended to explode when landing near you, only to survive?

What if were commuting back to your military base on a highway, and fell asleep at the wheel only to awaken to your vehicle spinning out of control, coming dangerously close to an 18-wheeler and a compact car?

Well these are some of the things Alton Pete has encountered. A retired Army Veteran; Pete was led to pen his life's journey in a book entitled Life Is So Precious.

Having evaded death numerous times, through 18 chapters, Pete's words encourage, heal and reveal. In starting his journey as an author, he states that his inspiration came from his mother and sister who have passed.

"They are my soul purpose for fulfilling this dream," he says. Knowing they'd be proud and want him to put his hardships to good use, in 2014, Pete decided to move forward in telling his story.

Many who have encountered him consider Pete to be extremely kind, humble, respectful and motivating. His heart of compassion and willingness to love through actions has enabled him to be a selfless leader, allowing his book to reflect his love for humankind. Life Is So Precious is filled with teachable moments, tips and words of encouragement that usher the reader through various parts of Pete's life. His transparency and willingness to share ways in which he has overcome is not only inspiring but thrusts readers into a place of actualization, encouraging them to pursue their dreams instead of simply waiting for them to happen.

Since the book's release, many have been impacted by Pete's message. "It's inspiring to me to know the book changed their way of thinking," he shares. "It's moving to me to know that I said something that resonated with them," with his message even bringing some to tears. "If you can get someone to cry, it means you've touched their heart," he states.

Not only has Pete himself been excited about the book's impact, his siblings have been overjoyed as well. "I'm excited," shares Leon Pete. "He worked hard. Alton is resilient and has paid his dues. I'm glad he took the approach and journey of writing this book. I tell him that he's a miracle child. A lot of people never recover, and he did. So, he has a story to tell."

Through his career in the Army, Pete became a decorated soldier, has traveled 10 countries, learned two languages and spent 16 months on a battle tour in Iraq. Today he holds the honorable title of Iraqi War Combat Veteran and survivor. Pete's experiences from adolescence to adulthood have motivated him to be a motivation to others. Wanting to reach a broad audience, Pete ensured that his book contained something for everyone from all walks of life. "I felt so compelled to write about life to reach every man, every woman, every teenager, little boy and little girl. The homeless, the broken lives dealing with so much hurt and pain, low self-esteemed individuals and those experiencing deep depression. To reach the unreachable, to touch the untouchable and to speak to the unspeakable, every man and every woman in prison, this is for you too."

Pete's book is available for purchase on Amazon. You can also visit his website at www.altonpete.com or email Wendy@DigzMediagrp.com to order merchandise and book him for speaking engagements.
