Complete Girlz Honors 7 Outstanding And Resilient Young Ladies From Our Area With "Youth Of The Year Awards"
Complete Girlz Inc., a mentoring, support, and empowerment group for girls and young women is honoring 7 exceptional young ladies in our area with the well regarded "Youth Of The Year Award." The organization teaches young women to speak, run businesses, and helps build their self esteem among other wellness skills for teenage young women and girls.
Kudos to them for their efforts to uplift girls and young women in our community. Complete Girlz Inc., does this uplifting invaluable work of empowering young women and girls at no charge. It is a volunteer organization.
This year they are honoring 7 resilient and exceptional young ladies from our area, including our co-publisher nZinga Austin, with "Youth Of The Year," awards. These outstanding young girls and ladies are not only brilliant but have overcome tremendous challenges.
The organization is lead by Ms. Earlene Lezama-Taylor, who is the Founder and CEO, and is originally from Queens NY. Earlene has an extensive background in business, academics, and also community/church advocacy for girls and young women. The Board and staff of Complete Girlz boasts a distinguished mix of business professionals.

E.F.A. NZINGA AUSTIN (AGE 19) IS A MULTI-TALENTED ARTIST, BLOGGER, AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER. SHE IS ALSO CO-PUBLISHER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUEENS SCOOP NEWS BLOG. IN HER CAPACITY AS CO-PUBLISHER SHE HAS RESEARCHED AND PUBLISHED OVER 1,500 ARTICLES AND EVENTS ON CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS, BUSINESSES, AND SOCIAL ISSUES IN THE SOUTHEAST AND JAMAICA QUEENS NYC AREA.
NZINGA WAS PLACED ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM AT 3 YEARS OLD. THROUGHOUT HER LIFE SHE HAS WORKED HARD AND IS NOW A PROMISING DESIGNER, SINGER, BAKER, AND ACTRESS AMONG OTHER THINGS. HER SUCCESS IN HER WORK AND LIFE SHOWS THAT DESPITE THE CHALLENGES IN LIFE, YOUNG WOMEN CAN REACH EXCEPTIONAL HEIGHTS OF ACHIEVEMENT WITH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION.
GABRIELLA ALICIA CODRINGTON (AGE 15) IS FROM BROOKLYN, NY. SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN DRIVEN, FROM GIVING SPEECHES AT 6 YEARS OLD TO BEING ACCEPTED INTO AND ATTENDING THE NYU STEM PROGRAM.
GABRIELLA HAS RECEIVED MANY AWARDS IN MULTIPLE AREAS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATHEMATICS. SHE GRADUATED FROM 8TH GRADE AS VALEDICTORIAN AND RECEIVED THE “TRIPLE ‘C’ AWARD” FROM THE STATE OF NEW YORK: A PROGRAM THAT RECOGNIZES THE COURAGE, CHARACTER, AND COMMITMENT OF NY STATE'S OUTSTANDING STUDENTS.
AT THE AGE OF 14, GABRIELLA WAS AWARDED THE YOUTH INCENTIVE AWARD OF BARBADOS. SHE IS TALENTED IN MUSIC AND HAS PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED PIANO AT CARNEGIE HALL. IN 2018 SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER; HOWEVER, WITH THE SUPPORT OF HER FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND CHURCH, SHE FULLY RECOVERED IN 2019. SHE CURRENTLY ATTENDS BARD HIGH SCHOOL EARLY COLLEGE QUEENS IN LONG ISLAND CITY WHERE SHE PARTICIPATES IN VARIOUS SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND CLUBS AND WILL GRADUATE WITH AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN 2021.
KYMORAH HORSHAM (AGE 14) IS A VERY ENERGETIC YOUNG WOMAN ALWAYS READY TO ASSIST AND LEND A HELPING HAND. HER PASSION TO HELP OTHER GIRLS IS ONE OF HER GREATEST PERSONAL ASSETS.
KYMORAH IS ONE OF THE YOUNGEST GIRLS ON OUR TEAM TO BE A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF COLORED PEOPLE (NAACP). SHE HAS STRUGGLED WITH STAYING ON TOP OF HER GRADES, WHICH SHE HAS IMPROVED IMMENSELY. SHE IS AN ACTIVE MEMBER AT HER CHURCH, “C3.” HER INTERESTS ARE IN PERFORMING ARTS WITH A FOCUS ON SINGING, DANCING, AND ACTING.
JÉLA PAUL (AGE 17) CURRENTLY ATTENDS BARD HIGH SCHOOL EARLY COLLEGE QUEENS WHERE SHE WILL GRADUATE WITH AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN ADDITION TO HER HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA IN JUNE 2019. SHE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED INTO 13 COLLEGES AND ULTIMATELY CHOSE THE UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO WHERE SHE WILL PURSUE AN INTENSE 6-YEAR SOCIOLOGY BA/JD JOINT DEGREE PROGRAM.

JOSEPH EPISCOPAL CHURCH. SOME OF HER GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE RECEIVING THE PAGEANT AWARD FOR MISS NATIONAL AMERICA AT AGE 4, WINNING HER SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD RACES, AND HAVING INTERVIEWS WITH THE FORMER ATTORNEY GENERAL, MS. JAMES.

MAYA ZADÈ MOSELEY (AGE 17) RECENTLY GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL IN 2019 AND HAS OVERCOME MANY TRIALS THROUGHOUT HER LIFE TO BECOME THE VIVACIOUS AND FAITHFUL YOUNG WOMAN SHE IS TODAY. MAYA FACED BULLYING IN MIDDLE SCHOOL THAT LED TO ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL CHALLENGES, LONELINESS AND DEPRESSION.
ALTHOUGH SHE STRUGGLED, SHE WAS NOT ALONE. MAYA’S STRONG FAITH AND TRUST IN GOD HELPED HER THROUGH HER HARDEST TIMES AND LED HER TO FIND HER PASSION FOR MAKEUP.
SHE STARTED HER OWN LIPSTICK LINE CALLED ZADÈ LIPS IN 2018 AND NOW HAS A FULL MAKEUP LINE CALLED “Z LINE COLLECTION.” MAYA’S MESSAGE TO EVERY YOUNG WOMAN IS “DON’T EVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS OR YOURSELF BECAUSE GOD IS ALWAYS BY YOUR SIDE. ASK HIM TO GIVE YOU STRENGTH TO PRESS FORWARD. BE GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE THINGS YOU HAVE AND EVERYTHING THAT YOU’VE BEEN BLESSED WITH.”
ALTHOUGH HER GOAL IS TO BECOME AN ATTORNEY IN THE FUTURE, SHE IS ALSO PLANNING TO LAUNCH HER GRAPHIC DESIGN BUSINESS IN 2019. IN HER FREE TIME JÉLA LOVES TO TRAVEL, TRY NEW FOODS, SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY, AND DANCE. SHE ATTENDS THE ST. ALBANS BAPTIST CHURCH WHERE SHE IS ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE PRAISE DANCE MINISTRY AND THE YOUTH DEPARTMENT. SHE BELIEVES ABRAHAM LINCOLN SAID IT BEST: “THE BEST WAY TO PREDICT YOUR FUTURE IS TO CREATE IT.”
MY-ASIA WHITE (AGE 18) IS A VERY INDEPENDENT YOUNG WOMAN WHO IS CURRENTLY WORKING TOWARDS A DEGREE IN ART EDUCATION AT MEDGAR EVERS COLLEGE. GROWING UP, MY-ASIA WAS IN AND OUT OF THE SHELTER SYSTEM.
SHE WORKED EXTREMELY HARD TO GIVE HER FAMILY A BETTER LIFE. GOD HAS BEEN A BIG PART IN HER LIFE AND SHE CONTINUES TO BE FAITHFUL.
MY-ASIA’S INTERESTS INCLUDE PAINTING, WRITING STORIES AND POEMS, MUSIC, HISTORY, PSYCHOLOGY, SINGING, ARCHERY, SOCCER, READING, EVENT PLANNING, AND HELPING HER COMMUNITY. SHE HAS VOLUNTEERED IN A LARGE CAPACITY AS A NURSING HOME AID, DOG WALKER, WRITING TUTOR, AND ASSISTANT AT THE CHILDREN’S AID SOCIETY.
