MARYLAND'S NEWEST BLACK-OWNED BED AND BREAKFAST IS AN ALL-INCLUSIVE SANCTUARY OF LUXURY AND ELEGANCE

Prince George County, MD  -- Just outside of Washington D.C., newly opened Wellspring Manor & Spa (www.wellspringmanor.com) is nestled in the culturally-rich Maryland suburb of Prince George's County. Wellspring is an oasis of peace, quiet, and renewal created for guests seeking a relaxing, wellness-infused experience. Wellspring is an all-inclusive sanctuary where guests can relax, be rejuvenated, and restored. The manor is a hidden gem in plain sight, located on a private seven-acre, wooded estate with an in-ground pool.

"My husband and I have traveled the world. Our Historically Black College and University (HBCU) experiences at Howard University and Fisk University and a deep appreciation for luxury experiences cemented our appreciation for culture, art, and education. We wanted to create a destination close to home where guests could also experience luxury and elegance. Everything curated for the Wellspring guest - food, wine, leisure, renewal, and entertainment, is about ensuring that they leave feeling relaxed and completely cared for," says Lisa Brown Alexander, Co-owner and Host.

Wellspring Manor & Spa offers a variety of signature packages designed to attract everyone from the retreat traveler to the well-traveled food, wine, and art connoisseur. The offerings include five-beautifully appointed guestrooms, complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres, on-site wellness spa, poolside activities, art events, live jazz, and guided tours to area wineries and other local attractions. Alexander beams, "Our property is unique in that it is both a hidden gem and a cultural destination that blends an elegant guest experience accented with a transformative art space. Wellspring's burgeoning gallery, managed by Curator-in-Residence, Barry Blackman, features breathtaking art from across the black/brown diaspora. Wellspring also features a fully equipped, gourmet kitchen and formal dining room complete with fireplace." Wellspring regularly hosts its own events in addition to those private events hosted by guests. Upcoming events and details are on the website for Memorial Day Weekend Celebration (May 24-27); Wellspring in White: A Brunch Experience (May 26); Wellspring Spa Escape (June 1-30); and Jamaica, Jamaica Weekend (August 2-4).

In the short time that Wellspring has been open (November 2018), guest reviews on Trip Advisor, Travel Noire, Prince George's Suite Magazine, and the Washington Informer have been consistently outstanding. Along with an organic robust sharing on social media platforms, word of mouth about the property has spread across the region - especially among luxury travelers of color seeking an experience that reflects their cultural and culinary preferences.

Lisa Brown Alexander and her husband, Kevin Alexander, are both successful entrepreneurs and business leaders. Lisa has served as President & CEO of a human resources management consulting firm since 2000 and prior to that served in a variety of executive level positions. Kevin recently retired as a Managing Director of Construction Services with a major insurance company after over 30 years of service. Since 2010, Kevin has also served as the creator and executive producer of the Lake Arbor Jazz Festival, one of the region's premier cultural events.

"Our inspiration for Wellspring Manor & Spa came in part from Mr. Eddie Brown, investment management executive, and owner of The Ivy Hotel, a top-flight, boutique hotel located in Baltimore. We visited, stayed, dined, studied, observed and experienced how Mr. Brown and his staff ran their operations and learned first-hand what it meant to offer unmatched customer service. My husband Kevin and I decided if we were going to open Wellspring Manor & Spa and be successful, we had to learn from the best in the business. We are here to create a legacy. Not just for our children, but also for the residents and visitors of Prince George's County. Our goal is to put Prince George's County on the map for intimate first-class accommodations," says Lisa.
