INDIE FILM "MARVELOUS" SHINES BIG AT THE 2019 CHARLOTTE BLACK FILM FESTIVAL

Nationwide Atlanta-based father & daughter independent film directors, Khaeem Yisrael (Director) and Hadiya Yisrael (Director of Photography), took home 4 awards for Best Soundtrack, Best Feature film, Best Director and Best Actor at the 9th annual Charlotte Black Film Festival in Charlotte, North Carolina for their feature film MARVELOUS.

The film recounts the lives of two brothers Alex and Phillip along with their best friend Rudy who form a singing group in the 1960s and 70s. The trio embark upon a journey into the world of R&B music. Soon they realize that the cost of fame may be too high a price to pay. Actor Bryan Earl (Alex) won the award for BEST ACTOR & Khaeem Yisrael won the Award for BEST DIRECTOR.

Khaeem is an Atlanta-based filmmaker, writer, director, and producer. Born to college professor Gwendolyn Delk Gatewood and legendary soul singer William Hart of the Delfonics. Upon the separation of his parents his mother left Philadelphia, PA and moved to Atlanta, GA in 1978 where by age 12, Khaeem began to take an interest in entertainment.

About Khaeem Entertainment:
In 1997, Khaeem started his own recording studio in a 1500 square foot building space in metro Atlanta he named Khaeem Entertainment where he recorded musicians and filmed music videos for local artist as well as producing his own local cable TV show called the Platinum House Music Channel where he showcased indie music videos from 1999-2001.

In 2006, Khaeem Entertainment evolved into a small film production company. By 2015, Khaeem began working on the script for his first feature film. In 2017, Khaeem began production on the company's first film MARVELOUS in collaboration with his 21-year old daughter and Cinematographer Hadiya Yisrael who he had been training in film production since she was 9-years old.
