Queens Arts Fund 2019 Calls
For Grant Applications

Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) is pleased to announce that they are now accepting applications for the 2019 Queens Arts Fund (QAF) grant cycle

QAF Grants fund Queens–based projects that offer distinct cultural programs for the Queens community by individual artists, collectives, artist–nonprofit partnerships, and nonprofit organizations. Grants range from $1,000 to $5,000. If you are a Queens artist or if you are an organization producing or presenting cultural activities in Queens in 2019, there are 3 funding opportunities available:

* Community Arts Grant (Organization Support)

* Arts Access Grant (Organization Support)

* New Works Grant (Individual Artist Support)

* Funds cover costs for eligible projects such as:

~ Projects with a public component that benefit Queens communities

~ Arts activities taking place within Queens in the 2019 calendar year

~ Individual artists' costs needed for the execution of a cultural project (direct administration costs, marketing and publicity costs, as well as supplies and materials)

These are project-based grants, so nonprofit organizations that are not specifically arts-focused are still eligible to apply with an arts or cultural project taking place in Queens.

The online grant application, eligibility requirements, and other application guidelines for the new grant cycle are available on the QCA website: http://www.queenscouncilarts.org/qaf/.

The deadline for all applications is October 25, 2018, 11:59pm.

QAF grant applications are reviewed by a select panel of members within the arts community. In order to ensure applicants have the most competitive application possible, QCA has Application Information Sessions in locations throughout the borough now until the deadline.

All first-time applicants must attend an Application Information Session (see schedule below)

QCA encourages you to contact the QAF Staff to discuss your project before submitting your application. Online Tutorials are available for your future reference.

Since 1978, QCA has been funding cultural activities across the borough keeping Queens neighborhoods alive with cultural vibrancy. In 2018, QCA awarded $227,000 in grants to 36 individual artists and 88 organizations for the creation of arts and cultural programming for the borough of Queens.
