The barbershop book, Keep That Seat Hot and the beauty shop book, Her Hair is Her Crown of Glory, teach business principles for owning, growing, and sustaining a business.
They discuss practical and common- sense approaches for marketing your business, having excellent customer service, exercising prudent financial management, having the right team in your business, expanding your business, and investing in yourself and business.

"I am extremely excited and blessed to be able to share my business insight to help those reach greater heights in their life and business through these books. All throughout my life, I have viewed the barbershop and beauty shop as the cornerstone of the African-American community. While growing up, my father took me to the barbershop and it was the place where I learned and gathered food for life. My mother took me to the beauty shop as well. At the beauty shop is where the respect and appreciation for womanhood was even more cemented in me."

"I am very happy for Alan as he continues to share his knowledge and strategies to help strengthen the African-American barbershop and beauty shop," said Donte Jones, Owner of Beyond the Cuts Barbershop. "Alan is very knowledgeable about business, and even more, he knows how to explain it where anyone could understand."
