Shark Tank Teams Up With Oklahoma City Black Expo

Oklahoma City, OK -- The Oklahoma Black Business Expo is teaming up with Emmy award-winning reality show Shark Tank to reignite the fire of inclusive economics. The monumental event will take place in Oklahoma City at the Cox Convention Center, to bring attention to African American owned businesses and those resources that assist in building a successful brand and business.

The expo is meant to highlight the 13,905 Black-owned businesses (U.S Census Bureau, 2012 Survey) in Oklahoma, to include those in the rest of the country, as well as to inspire the next generation of business owners.

Casting directors will host a casting-call for startups and entrepreneurs to pitch their unique business idea in order to jump into the Shark Tank that will be televised on ABC, which features a variety of successful entrepreneurs and investors.

"It's time for us to create more together while being honest about the color of people and the color of money, and not just for ourselves but for generations to come," said Asa Leveaux, founder of the Black Business Expo and founder of Leveaux Group, Inc.

The Oklahoma Black Business Expo kicks off Saturday, April 14, 2018. Wristbands to see Shark Tank producers will be distributed from 9am-11am with interviews beginning at 10am. The casting call is available to anyone in the country and this event is free and open to the general public. Due to the need there will be a time set aside to receive business workshops and musical selections on the Empowerment Stage throughout the event.

Sponsor and vendor opportunities are still available. For more details, visit www.okblackbusinessexpo.com

The expo is currently sponsored by Leveaux Group, Inc., The Journal Record, BlackPR.com, Oklahoma Army National Guard, Oklahoma State University’s Office of Diversity & Inclusion, and more. Also,  Emmy award-winning artist/actor Jabee Williams will make an appearance.
