Don't Lose Faith!
You could have lost hope in 2017 because it is a year that President Trump has pushed forward a tax plan that puts more money in the pockets of the wealthy and bankrupts health care for lower class people.
You can really be concerned when Black thought leaders have devolved into trash talkers with egoistic attacks on each other exacerbated with digital tools like Facebook, YouTube, and cell phone video. You can be highly cynical and suspect about our collective future when think tanks are projecting high percentages of young Black men (as high as 33%) will be incarcerated in the near future.
You could be dismayed when the well meaning "#MeTooMovement" is imbuing male and female relationships is a way that questions how people can even date and get to know each other. It is hard to have faith in a future where Black family net worth is only $3,000 while white wealth is $100,000.

But have Imani like faith. The Black community isn't hopeless. If we have faith and work collectively towards unity and economic development we - will survive and thrive!
Keep the faith this year. The example of the election of Atlanta, Mayoral Elect Keisha Lance-Bottoms, is encouraging. She won a tight race! And also the defeat of Roy Moore, in the Alabama, Senate election further points in the direction that our people are beginning to be galvanized again politically!
Even the Trump political advisors are seeing tough times down the road for the GOP. They are seeing a serious progressive backlash against conservative forces.
Keep the Faith in 2018 because we have over 2.5 businesses opening up and people are starting community superstores and organic gardens. We have entrepreneurs starting crypto currencies and digital platforms to do business.
Keep the Faith fam in 2018, we see young people starting viable businesses and charitable organizations. I have to believe they will usher in new younger thought leaders who will collaborate in collective economic ventures and avoid caustic diatribes and hostile belittling of each other.
You gotta have faith when you see online schools that are teaching economic and business perspectives that will help us overcome our consumer ways and help us think more like business owners and investors in our community. I have to believe we will close the net worth wealth gap. It may take decades however I believe we will do it!
I am inspired to have faith. Although people are confusing us on how men and women can relate to each other.
However we can still go to churches, or religious and civic organizations and still get a high five, a tap on the shoulder, and an occasional hug by strangers of different genders at a "Watch Night Service wishing you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
