1. Enjoy your Thanksgiving season at the "RetroSoul Costume Party," with the iconic Ole School Hip Hop DJ Ralph McDaniels, and his Video Music Box friends! Dust off and wear your gear from back in da day and prepare to have a night of fun.

2. A.PT. Cares Day: If you know families and neighbors who could benefit from a free Thanksgiving meal and warm clothing tomorrow please share this information with others in the community.

The African Poetry Theatre (A.P.T.), the place where I started to learn community activism and organizing, is making available free Thanksgiving dinners and warm clothing in the Greater Jamaica and Southeast Queens area.

4. The Last Revolutionary is an independent film coming to NYC.  It features globally recognized television, film and stage actor John Marshall Jones (Bosch, Shooter, In The Cut, and the upcoming 9-1-1) and multi award-winning writer Levy Lee Simon (AUDELCO, NAACP Theater and Kennedy Center Awards) are starring in this film which opens at the African Diaspora International Film Festival, to be held at Columbia University, on November 24th 2017 at 7pm.  For more info Click Here 





5. Black Friday BoxingThis youth boxing event hosted by Hempstead Boxing Club, taking place November 24th, is keeping the youth "Active" through boxing. This club encourages their educational, professional and life skill development.


In addition, senior boxers are given opportunities to develop their sense of social responsibility. This is done by giving the youth support and guidance through boxing classes that promote physical strength, discipline, health and wellness to youth in New York.  For more info Click Here



6. Jazz Up Thanksgiving at Jackson Room - in Southeast Queens, an original home of jazz greats, we naturally Jazz UP Thanksgiving.  The go to place for jazz in Southeast Queens, Jackson Room, will once again host world class musicians in our community with the Ed Jackson Quartet.  Get the scoop on this amazing artistry to liven up your holidays.

7. The Black Spectrum Theatre Company in cooperation with the Milton G. Bassin Performing Arts Center are pleased to present The R&B Extravaganza — a fundraiser for the Black Spectrum Theatre Company.
