Jah mon, I'm a Jam-American past Imposta Rasta - cool runnings and all dat good stuff kinda guy. I'm only half Caribbean ya know? LOL!  But I know what I like in food.

I love southern soul food and and still also love me some Caribbean cuisine.  Me a half and half brutha with a mother from the south and a father from the Caribbean Isles.  So maybe that's why I truly love both forms of ethnic cuisine.

I love to support both southern soul food restaurants and also Caribbean restaurants in the area. To read my southern soul food review recently go here.

To checkout my 7 Standout Caribbean restaurants in Southeast Queens read on!  Then let me know in the comment section your favorites in the area.  So let's go!!!

The Door's Amazing Coconut Garnished Salmon Dish Simply Delish

The Door - The Door is a true fine dining Caribbean establishment.  The food is Jamaican and West Indian artisan dishes.  The food is presented very well and the service is good.  The wait on busy nights may be a little long.  The atmosphere is really nice.

I want to say the door is the best Caribbean restaurant in Southeast Queens.  If fact I think it is one of the best restaurants in Queens in terms of savory delicious food.

Is there a better Caribbean restaurant in NYC than the Door?  You'd be hard pressed to find it in my humble opinion.   I think only Negril's in the Village comes close to the door in terms of taste and atmosphere.  But I'm a damn Yankee what do I know?  LOL!  The address is: 163-07 Baisley Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11434

Golden Krust - I know Golden Krust is a franchise that started in the Bronx I heard.  Some people may think it is too commercial but I love the food at Golden Krust.  The one in St. Albans, I find much more cozy with excellent service than the ones on Jamaica Avenue.  I can just taste the delicious coconut in the peas and rice.  I'm not ashamed.  I love me some Golden Krust! The Address is: 200-8 Linden Blvd, St. Albans, NY 11412

Curry Chicken with Pumpkin Rice at Golden Krust

Smokehouse - The Smokehouse makes excellent food.  It is very popular so the line is a bit long at times.  I find their Caribbean food is better but they also try to do soul food.  The fried chicken could be better.

They do classic Caribbean food well.  I love their jerk chicken and curry chicken.  There isn't much seating at this Caribbean food hot spot.  However, the food is made fresh and hot. The customer service is pretty good too most of the time. The Address is: 189-33 Linden Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11412

Kriss - Also makes delicious Caribbean Food.  They have delicious house made carrot juices and others beverages. However, not much seating.  The hospitality at the restaurant could be better.  The Address is: 112-04 Farmers Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11412

OG Restaurant -  This little gem of Jamaican Cuisine is near the business strip near the intersection of Linden Blvd and Francis Lewis Blvd.  If you walk too fast you will miss it.  It has excellent and tasty curry chicken and stew chicken.  It is small but cozy.  You will like this place.  Usually the customer service is good
. The Address is: 205-03 Linden Blvd, St. Albans, NY 11412

Jerk Chicken & Stew Chicken Mix at OG Restaurant
B & R Restaurant - Has some serious down home Caribbean food too.  I have to say the couple of times I've eaten there I've been real impressed.  It has a nice seating area in the back which you'd never know about unless you go back there.  The address is : 111-06 Farmers Blvd, St. Albans, NY 11412

Latty's - has good food although I'm sure how they mix and match their sides with their main entrees.  I think they should allow more latitude with the sides.  But the food tastes good and fresh.  It also stays open pretty late. Here is the Address: 199-10 Linden Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11412
