Time management is critical
“I have a schedule so I can fit everything in,” explains Jones. Spoken like a true entrepreneur! She likes to do everything herself, or at least be involved in some aspect of her business at all times.
She even helps to do her own taxes, and has learned how to write a business plan and determine pricing for her products.
How she got started
Her interest began when she took a class in school in making fizzy bath bombs. It occurred to her that she could do this herself and sell the products. She had already came up with a name for her business, Lani Boo Bath - which came from her grandmother's nickname for her, Lani Boo.
Her parents, dad Marcel Jones, an attorney, and mother Crystal Jones, a psychotherapist with a private practice in Fredericksburg, helped her with startup costs and are there to assist when she needs help. But, as Jones clearly states, "I just want to be the boss."
From local to nationwide
Jones' business has grown from selling to friends and family to selling at craft shows. Now, she gets orders from people from all over the country. Most of her orders come from Facebook inquiries and via her page on Etsy. You might say that Jones' business is "the bomb!"
