About Jumpstart For A Day: Jumpstart for a Day (JFAD) is an annual festival celebrating literacy and service that brings volunteer groups from local universities and organizations together with young children and families. JFAD highlights the importance of literacy and family engagement with enrichment activity tables and stations that are designed to help children develop the language and literacy skills necessary for school success.

Many of the activities will introduce a children’s book and offer activities related to the book. Local Community Partners will also be at the event with information and resources for children and families. Organizations include: Pre-K for all, Empire Health Care, SNAP, New York Fire Department, and more!

All children and families will receive free Jumpstart Backpacks, books, literacy resources, and snacks!  More info here.
