The program was put on by State Senator Leroy Comrie and hosted by Adrienne Adams. The event was put on "in celebration of Mother's Day."
Ms. Ebony expressed her appreciation by stating "It was an honor to be in such great company and amongst other esteemed women writers and entrepreneurs."
Other women authors honored were: Beverly Burchett, Toni Coleman Brown, Delicia Davis, Eva Duzant, Rev. Simone Lord, Melissa E. Morgan, Julia Shaw, Rosanna Small Morgan, Vicki Schneps, Ashley Taylor, and Faye Thompson.
